The Library is offering trial access to U.S. Intelligence on Asia, 1945–1991, a primary source collection of declassified documents relating to U.S. intelligence activities in the Far East during the Cold War. The collection includes materials on the operations, assessments, and limitations of U.S. intelligence agencies, and provides documentary evidence relevant to the study of U.S.–Asia relations across the period from 1945 to 1991.
The database covers records from the U.S. intelligence community concerning the Far East during the Cold War, with particular attention to the People’s Republic of China, North Korea, and North Vietnam, as well as materials on other countries and territories in the region.
Highlights include:

The Library is offering trial access to Chinese Film and Newsreel Scripts from the Cultural Revolution Online, a primary source collection containing transcripts of documentary films and newsreels from China in the 1950s to 1970s. Many of these films were produced by the China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio and served as mass media and communication channels during the period. As relatively few scripts have been preserved, partly due to the quality of printing paper used at the time, the database may be useful for research on modern Chinese history, media, and society.
The collection provides materials related to Chinese documentary film and newsreel history, covering various aspects of social activities, with reference to the construction of a socialist country and the Cultural Revolution period (1966–1976).
Highlights include:
· Transcripts of documentary films and newsreels from the Cultural Revolution period (1966–1976)
· Materials covering the 1950s to the 1970s, a period when newsreels and documentary films were commonly used as mass media in China

【HKSYU 55th Anniversary 】From Print to Digital: The Digital Edition of the University Journal is Officially Launched!
This year marks the 55th Anniversary of Hong Kong Shue Yan University. Since 1991, the university has published a commemorative special issue for milestone anniversaries ending in “0” or “5”. These publications document the University’s major developments, achievements, and memorable moments, making them valuable resources for exploring the history of Shue Yan.
By 2026, seven Anniversary Commemorative Publications have been published. To preserve this important part of the University’s heritage and enhance accessibility, the Library has fully digitized all past editions.
Students, staff, alumni of the University community can now explore the complete collection online through the Library website and rediscover the stories, milestones, and achievements that have shaped Shue Yan over the past 55 years.
