【User Services Team】Recruitment for Part-time Student Assistants

The Library is inviting applications for Part-time Student Assistants to provide operational and user service support. Under the supervision of the User Services Team, successful candidates will assist in maintaining high-quality library services and supporting various library activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with shelving, shelf-reading, and bookshelf management to ensure library collections are accurately organized and accessible.
  • Support daily user services operations, including service counter duties, handling user enquiries, and conducting library patrols to maintain a comfortable and conducive study environment.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support for the section’s daily operations.
  • Assist in library projects and service initiatives as assigned.
  • Support the promotion of library services and resources through the creation of publicity materials, including leaflets, posters, videos, and social media content.
  • Assist in organizing and supporting library events and outreach activities, including Library Tours, Information Day, and other promotional programmes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the User Services Team.

Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Be punctual, responsible, and self-disciplined.
  • Demonstrate a positive customer service attitude and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Be able to balance work and academic commitments, and commit at least 10 hours per week, including evenings and Saturdays.
  • Possess good written and spoken Chinese and English skills.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Have knowledge of graphic design and video editing software. Experience with Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Photoshop will be an advantage.
  • Be undergraduate students in Years 1 to 3 (preferred).

Remuneration

Remuneration will be based on the hourly rate approved by the University.
