【Library Service Updates】

The Library is pleased to share the following updates with you.

One-Stop Service Point

Starting 21 Dec 2024 (Sat), we will have a centralized service point at the G/F Service Counter. This means you can handle all your library needs at one location, including:

  • Borrowing regular items
  • Getting External Reader Cards
  • Collecting Alumni Reader or Borrower Cards
  • Picking up interlibrary loans
  • Borrowing iPads and laptops
  • Checking out Course Reserve materials
  • Lost & found services

Meanwhile, to better align with users’ preferred practices, we are going cashless. The Library will only accept Octopus payments at the counter as we transition to a cashless system. We are also working on introducing additional mobile payment options, which will be available next year.

Course Reserve Materials

From 23 Dec 2024 (Mon), you can find high-demand course readings in the closed stack Course Reserve on the G/F. You can borrow these materials for three hours and use them outside the Library. Here’s how to access them:

  • Go to the “Course Resources” tab on the Library homepage.
  • Look for items’ location marked “Course Reserve G/F”.
  • Note down the call number and title of the items you want.
  • Visit the G/F Service Counter and provide this information to the staff.
  • The staff will retrieve the items and check them out for you.

Thank you for your understanding and continuous support of the Library!
