About Us

A. About the Library Complex and the Library

The Hong Kong Shue Yan University, established in 1971 (formerly Hong Kong Shue Yan College), has been dedicated to enhancing higher education standards in Hong Kong and promoting international academic cooperation. To fulfill this mission, the University constructed a 19-storey Library Complex in 1995, strategically located next to the main campus on Wai Tsui Crescent, Braemar Hill.

This multifunctional building houses the University Library across its Ground Floor and 2nd through 6th floors, while also accommodating seminar rooms, conference facilities, research centres, an event podium, as well as practical amenities including a parking lot and residential quarters.

Serving as the intellectual heart of the institution, the Library provides comprehensive academic resources, versatile learning spaces, and innovative user-centred services designed to support the evolving needs of students, faculty, and researchers in their pursuit of knowledge and academic excellence.
