Room\/Workstation Booking<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"Facilities\"><strong>Facilities<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"A_Library_Zoning\"><strong>A. <span class=\"TextRun SCXW30707310 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW30707310 BCX0\">Library Zoning<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Library is divided into <a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/SubjectsPlus\/subjects\/guide.php?subject=floorplan#tab-1\">3 zones (click to see the location)<\/a> designed to suit the different needs of users.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>Silent Zone:<\/strong> for quiet individual study, and no talking is permitted;<\/li>\r\n<li><strong><strong>Collaboration<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>Zone:<\/strong> for group discussion;<\/li>\r\n<li><strong><strong>Phone<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>Zone:<\/strong> for quiet phone conversations<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"B_Study_Facilities\"><strong>B. Study Facilities<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>Study <strong>Carrels<\/strong><\/strong>: The Library has provided some individual study carrels for private study. They are located on 2\/F, 3\/F, 4\/F, and the Law Library.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Individual Study Desks<\/strong>: The Library provides individual study desks on 4\/F.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Discussion Areas<\/strong>: The discussion areas are located on 2\/F, 5\/F and 6\/F of the Library. They are separate areas providing large tables for group discussions.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Multi-purpose Discussion Rooms &amp; Corner and Presentation room<\/strong>: There are two\u00a0 discussion rooms located at 6\/F Digital Imaging Laboratory, a presentation room on 5\/F, and a discussion corner on 3\/F. Booking of the rooms can be made at the <a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/subsystem\/mrbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Room\/<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/subsystem\/mrbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Workstation<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/subsystem\/mrbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Booking System<\/a> . Please read the <a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/roomreg\/\">regulation of using Discussion Rooms, Presentation Room and Discussion Corner<\/a>.\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>One user can book 2 sessions <strong><span class=\"underline\">per day<\/span><\/strong>. Each session is 30 minutes.<\/li>\r\n<li>The 3\/F Discussion Corner and 6\/F Discussion Rooms can be booked\u00a0<strong>1 Day<\/strong>\u00a0in advance, and the 5\/F Presentation Room can be booked <strong><span class=\"underline\">3 Days<\/span><\/strong> in advance.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"C_Activity_Room\"><strong>C. Activity Room<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>1. Regulations for Using Activity Room<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Activity Room on 2\/F Hong Kong Shue Yan University Library is available for <strong>activity and teaching purposes<\/strong>.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/hksyu\/liblogin.php?redirect=arflag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Activity Room Booking Form<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>2. Booking Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>The Activity Room can be booked by current students or staff.<\/li>\r\n<li>Groups with around <strong>15 students\/ staff<\/strong> can apply to use the Activity Room.<\/li>\r\n<li>Applications can be sent via the online <a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/hksyu\/liblogin.php?redirect=arflag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Activity Room Booking Form<\/a> at least <strong>5 working days<\/strong> in advance. A confirmation notice will be sent to the applicant by email if the application is approved.<\/li>\r\n<li>Users <strong>should<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/lib\/subsystem\/mrbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">view the room booking status<\/a> before submitting an application.<\/li>\r\n<li>Requesters who fail to occupy the reserved room within 30 minutes from the start time of the booking sessions will be forfeiting their reservation.<\/li>\r\n<li>The Activity Room at 2\/F is for walk-in access by Library users on a first-come, first-served basis when the Room is not reserved.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>3. Regulations for Using the Room<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Users must observe Library regulations, and keep the room in good order.<\/li>\r\n<li>Food and drinks are not allowed in the room.<\/li>\r\n<li>Users are responsible for any damage to the facilities in the room.<\/li>\r\n<li>The Library is not responsible for any loss or damage of personal items left unattended in the room.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>4. Room Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>The Activity Room is equipped with:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Whiteboard<\/li>\r\n<li>PC workstation<\/li>\r\n<li>Projector and microphone<\/li>\r\n<li>Tables and chairs for maximum 26 persons<\/li>\r\n<li>Users can bring in their notebook computers for connection to the University\u2019s network with <a href=\"https:\/\/www-hksyu-edu-hk.hksyu.idm.oclc.org\/pdf\/wireless.htm\">WiFi<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"D_Digital_Imaging_Laboratory\"><strong>D. Digital Imaging Laboratory<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Digital Imaging Laboratory is located on the 6\/F.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It features state-of-the-art equipment for collecting 3D data as well as data post-processing software and computers to meet the hands-on training needs of students.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For more details, please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalimaginglab.hksyu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/digitalimaginglab.hksyu.edu\/\">the Digital Imaging Laboratory website<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"E_SEN_Corner\"><strong>E. SEN Corner<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The SEN Corner on the 3\/F supports students with special learning needs during their studies. It is equipped with the following specialised equipment:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Desktop Computer with NVDA (Text-to-speech software)<\/li>\r\n<li>Braille Display<\/li>\r\n<li>Braille Embosser (Printer)<\/li>\r\n<li>Desktop Video Magnifier<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you need assistance with using the equipment, please contact the G\/F Service Counter in the Library.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In addition, a study room located in RLG103 of the Research Complex is also available to provide assistance to students with visual impairments. For more details, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/orientation.hksyu.edu\/index.php\/counselling-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OSA Counselling Support website<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"F_Other_Facilities\"><strong>F. Other Facilities<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>1. <strong>Blu-ray player<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Two blu-ray disc players are equipped in 3\/F. Users can watch Blu-ray discs (Region Code 3) or listen to music with all CDs, VCDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, and DVD-ROMs in 3\/F. Moreover, users can log in to their Netflix account and enjoy Netflix movies. Furthermore, users can connect the mobile app to enjoy the YouTube videos.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>2. <strong>Drinking Fountains<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Six drinking fountains are installed on each of the Library floors.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>3. <strong>Wireless LAN Area<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Library offers wireless Internet access to patrons with wireless-enabled devices. Patrons can access the Internet with their notebook computers\/Smartphones\/Tablets in the Library Building.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Our network supports both 802.11b\/g\/n Wi-Fi devices.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For details, please refer to the following <a href=\"https:\/\/hksyu.idm.oclc.org\/login?url=http:\/\/library.hksyu.edu\/pdf\/wireless.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instructions<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"G_RoomWorkstation_Booking\"><strong>G.
