Title A name given to the resource 石灣陶塑 – 劉澤棉先生作品：十八羅漢 Description An account of the resource <h3><strong>石灣陶塑 – 劉澤棉先生作品：十八羅漢</strong></h3> <p>劉澤棉（<span>1937-</span>）生於四代相傳的陶藝世家，是石灣陶塑技藝的代表性傳承人，同時也是中國工藝美術大師。劉澤棉於<span>1980</span>年開始創作《十八羅漢》。他與弟弟劉炳和兒子劉兆津組成團隊，走訪了山西大同雲崗石窟、河南洛陽龍門石窟、雲南筇竹寺、廣東南華寺等佛教造像藝術寶庫，考察古代塑像。他們先後製作了<span>160</span>多個小泥稿，經過反覆篩選和定稿，最終塑造出<span>18</span>個姿態各異、富有個性的羅漢。《十八羅漢》原作於<span>1981</span>年完成。<span>1990</span>年，這作品獲得了全國工藝美術評比的最高獎「珍品獎」，並被中國工藝美術館收藏。<span>1992</span>年，一座近<span>1</span>米高的《十八羅漢》作品被省政府贈送給泰國淡浮院收藏。</p> <p>香港樹仁大學圖書館所收藏的《十八羅漢》是石灣美術陶瓷廠出品的精品。精品是指利用原作翻模印製出基本原型，再經陶藝家作者本人精修而成的作品。</p> <p>展覽地點<span> : </span>圖書館二樓</p> <h3><strong>Shiwan Pottery - Mr. Liu Zemian's Work: Eighteen Arhats</strong></h3> <p>Liu Zemian (1937-) was born into a four-generation heritage of pottery art and is a representative inheritor of Shiwan Art Pottery, as well as a master of Chinese Arts and Crafts. Liu Zemian began creating the "Eighteen Arhats" in 1980. Along with his brother Liu Bing and son Liu Zhaojin, they formed a team and visited Buddhist statue art treasures such as the Yungang Grottoes in Datong, Shanxi, the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, Henan, the Qiongzhu Temple in Yunnan, and the Nanhua Temple in Guangdong to study ancient sculptures. They made over 160 small clay drafts and carefully selected and refined them to ultimately sculpt 18 arhats with different postures and distinctive personalities. The original works "Eighteen Arhats" were completed in 1981. In 1990, the work won the highest award, the "Treasure Award," in the National Arts and Crafts Competition and was collected by the China National Arts and Crafts Museum. In 1992, a nearly 1-meter tall version of the "Eighteen Arhats" was presented by the provincial government as a gift to the Dhammakaya Temple in Thailand.</p> <p>The "Eighteen Arhats" collection held by Hong Kong Shue Yan University Library is a fine work produced by Shiwan Fine Arts Ceramics Factory.
