"Much has transpired in the 18 years since the first edition of Principle of Trauma Therapy was published. In North America, there have been many large-scale natural disasters; multiple mass shootings; two wars; widespread and seemingly increasing racism, homophobia, and discrimination against LBTQ+ people; and a global pandemic that devastated millions of individuals.
